First of all, Vegas is great. Are you running from, or seriously running TO? Portugal is warm, is friendly, low taxes. There is always Costa Rica.

Been there, done that. They don't like US there. You may find it difficult in the cities. Traffic is so bad, it took 2 hours to go 2 miles. Extreme poverty alongside wealth, and a LOT of crime. No snow, but the typhoons will get you. Must like bugs, ...

Yes, the area around Cortez is lovely, as a desert SW landscape. I was a BLM ranger at Mesa Verde and lived in Durango. The problem is water, or the lack of it. You must be sure you have an adequate supply for whatever dwelling, as many communities a...

Tennessee has some good places, lots of fishing. Also the Carolinas. Not into fishing or golf, but I know lots of friends who went to Tennessee to retire.

Totally agree. Stuck where I am in CO. And it's expensive. Been here 18 years and cannot afford to move, or buy elsewhere. Seniors are being scammed about retirement locations.
