I am a 59 year old retired Licensed Clinical Social Worker (MSW, LCSW). I wore hearing aids 1992 to 2012 when hearing aids would no longer benefit me and I am not a candidate for a cochlear implant due to scar tissues inside my ears and auditory nerve damage. I worked fill time from age 11 part-time to age16 - 55 years old Full-time. I have at times worked two jobs at once and owned my own business for 10 years while working full-time for hospitals and community mental health setting doing psychiatric evaluations and therapy. I am also a certified Indian Child Welfare Expert and have worked with several tribes in the Midwest, Southwest, and South USA. I still do some volunteer pro bono work in my community.
I have a 40 year old son who lives with me who has cerebral palsy. I and my son are on SSDI. Money is tight but we have shelter, food, medical care, clean water and indoor plumbing, so I am very thankful for that. I am actively involved in my church and in the process of becoming a Habit for Humanity home owner. Weather permitting my home will be done by the end of November.
