Grew upon a poor broken down farm in the Midwest; where a fishing pole would be a luxury. We had a pond that had a few catfish, sun perch and a few other unidentifiable fish in it. I would take a limb from a tree and put some baling twine from the barn as the string and a large safety pin for a hook.. Mom would save the chicken guts for anyone would like some fishing baits. It is hard to believe, but yes I was able to catch a few fish that way. Love those memories.
