Tell us about yourself:
I have been a member of this community since 2009 and don't know why AARP has it wrong since I had been here several months before they made the first big changes to the Community in May of 2010.
I have been a widow since January 2009. I have three children, ten grandchildren (one deceased) and fifteen great grandchildren. In May 2014 I traded the cold, snowy North for the Sunny South. It was with mixed emotions that I did this, but at my age one thing I have learned is that one does what one has to do and not always what one would like to do. Though I miss the weather I don't miss the extremely high taxes and heating bills. LOL!
Of course there is always a trade off, like double the cost of car and home owners insurance. I also think food prices here are higher. Oh well, you give some and get some and let's face it, if you aren't rich you always end up giving more than you get.
Area of knowledge and what I know well:
After 81 years I know something about a lot of things and a little about a few things. Some I have forgotten and some I remember. I spent most of my working life in an office job and thirty-five years of it in MIS.

Longtime Community member. Had a thirty-five-year career in Management Information Systems. I traded the cold, snowy North for the sunny South.
Certificates/Awards
I don't have a lot of these unless you count my high school diploma and my two years of college,. going nights. I did win a small scholarship at high school graduation but turned it down as we were getting ready to move out of state.
