The Lake Michigan coastal cities (in Michigan) are gorgeous all summer but even in October they're still warm and mostly sunny. Lots of historic lighthouses, etc. It's known as the New England of the Midwest.

If you need a home health aide, a weekly visit may be covered by Medicare. If you need more, contact an employment agency, or a group like Visiting Angels. https://www.visitingangels.com/houston/home

Since your mom can still care for herself, get her into a low income senior housing complex. She's young enough to enjoy the social aspects as well to make new friends. Spending her assets on more expensive options now could leave her nothing when as...
