Metro Hiring and the laws that Metro has to abide by

I know that some people think that former President George Bush Sr. was an idiot for signing the ADA into law and some may believe that was the ticket to get him voted out of office and his seat was taken over by former President Bill Clinton.

Metro has a job to with it's team and that is to get the workforce up to pre-pandemic levels.  There are still several bus routes that are still closed and Metro is struggling on if they want to open them or to have them remained closed and maybe have them be closed permanently.  Shutting down the bus routes for good is bad for the economy and tourism.  The entire MetroBus fleet is made up of Gillig Advantage low-floor buses.  The steering wheel is adjustable.  You can raise it up and down and also tilt it back and forth.  And their new electric buses are very quiet.

Call-a-Ride is their paratransit service and they cater to those with disabilities.  There are those serving in the military and sometimes come home with a limb or two missing.

MetroLink is what St. Louis calls it's light rail system.  And Metro needs not only the operators to drive the trains but also they need mechanics to keep every Metro transit vehicle in good working order.

By federal law, Metro cannot discriminate against any employee or applicant.  When it comes to employment, they know fair and square that this is NOT American Idol where on that show you could go and impose stupid age limits.  This is trying to work a transit system so that others can get to work go have coffee and even walk the trails in the various parks including the famous Forest Park.

Lets see how many more positions we can fill so that way, not only can we start reopening the routes we have closed, but also open some new ones.  I would love to see more routes in South St. Louis county open since North St. Louis County has quite a few and there should be at least the same amount of routes in South St. Louis County as well as North St. Louis County.

Seniors are just antique people rich with history.
