If you are over 50 and have been out of work for any length of time your chances of finding a job are basically zero. Internet job listings are pointless and often scams. Jobs are mostly inside actions as people hire people they already know. AARP and the members can really help, not with general advice but with actual companies large and small and actual contact people to call. The one to call is the person who has the ability to say yes. Many have the ability to say no, including the receptionist who can simply not forward on your application, to the HR person who is usually a moron who is inundated with letters. The one who can say yes is the critical person.
