๐Ÿ’ผ 10 States That Are Great for Older Workers (AARP Article)

FROM THE ARTCLE.

See how your state ranks on this list.

By Matt Swenson, AARP. Published July 17, 2025.

In 2016, Alan Holben, a professional photographer, headed west to St. George, Utah, because he and his wife pictured living out their golden years among the stateโ€™s scenic red rocks. The coupleโ€™s move from Michigan wasnโ€™t about retirement but, rather, a new chapter inspired by a vacation touring the stateโ€™s five national parks.

โ€œWe came looking for someplace that was no longer in the snow belt and had beautiful scenery for both of us as artists,โ€ says Holben, who is 66.

[10/3/25] Thanks for stopping by NC @nctarheel !!!

I agree with you. At age 67 I would NOT be moving for a job.

But many Seniors will = still working & some at age 80.

I admire these Seniors who are ENJOYING their careers, many a 2nd career stint.

Where I am, lots of MEDICAL jobs here as Carilion owns us (hospitals, clinics, medical colleges/universities and so on). We have ALOT of "use to be retired" Medical Staff who RELOCATED. Grateful as this means I get to see a "real" MEDICARE DOCTOR. Lol, on my 2nd one. Hope he is there for my December Followup Appt.

Take care,

As a senior, moving to any of these states makes no sense.

First of all, you need a BOATLOAD OF MONEY to live in states like Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maryland, Colorado, or Massachusetts.

You need a SHIPLOAD OF MONEY to live in Alaska.

In every one of those states, you need the expertise of driving and walking in what can be extremely harsh winters thus putting both your own and others lives in danger.

This list makes absolutely NO SENSE for anyone of an ADVANCED AGE.
