"app.link.com" account created without my knowledge by "aarpdriversafety.org": Scam?

I signed up and paid for the AARP Smart Driver online course, and immediately landed on app.link.com site where they had saved the CC info that I used for the course.
Seems fishy to me.

AARP: is this legit?

I deleted the account immediately that apparently was created when I paid for the course. Perhaps I missed the verbiage that told me this was creating a 3rd party payment account, but if so then at best this is misleading.☺

Thanks

Same for me as well.  Would never have signed up for such a thing... giving someone all your CC info.  No way!
