After paying for AARP Drivers Safety Course my information was shared with Link (digital wallet)

Beware - I recently signed up for AARPs driver safety course, paying with my credit card.  Right after receiving an email receipt of payment from AARP I immediately received two emails from Link saying my Link digital wallet was ready for use.  One email contained the following: What's Link?  A safe way to pay faster at AARPDriverSafety and everywhere Link is accepted.   I reach out to customer service for this course and was told Link was a legitimate third party partner of AARP.  They noted:

I am happy to clarify the $5 promotion on our course checkout page.  By purchasing our course using your bank account instead of a credit/debit card, you are opting into using the third-party app, Link. They are the ones who provide a rebate of $5, it is not a discounted amount off.
None of this is true as I paid for this course using my credit card and the March discount I found online did not mention Link.  My email back to customer service noting my payment method and asking for clarification of what information they did share has to date been unanswered.

Note that my wife also took this course, paying with the same credit card and did not get any emails from Link!

Another reason why I only use points on anything here.  Hope they give you some understanding on this.

would be good if we could use points for driving course or membership but I have not seen that.  BTW many public libraries offer the driving course for FREE.  I was told some senior centers also offer if for FREE.

Please contact our support team so they can review your transaction and clarify why those emails were sent:

• Visit https://help.aarp.org
• Or call 888-687-2277 (888-OUR-AARP)

They’ll be able to look into your order and provide more details. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. -AARP Darryl
