Stressors/Pressures of Everyday Life

As Iโ€™m coming to two years of the worst times of my life, both personally and professionally, Iโ€™ve noticed there are a lot of rock songs out there that deal with the Stressors/Pressures of everyday life. I thought it would be a great topic to explore. Songs with pressure in the title are obvious, but Iโ€™m hoping this will bring out other, more subtle songs that address these issues. I will start with one of my all time favorites in this area-

Streets of London - Ralph McTell

Song is about being homeless. Very beautifully written heartfelt lyrics. I love this cover version by Blackmore's Night.

"All My Trials"  by Joan Baez

(It is based on a Bahamian lullaby about a mother on her death bed, comforting her children, "Hush little baby, don't you cry. You know your mama's bound to die," because, as she explains, "All my trials, Lord, Soon be over.")

Garden Party - Rick Nelson (RIP, we miss you)

But it's all right now, I've learned my lesson well
You see, you can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself

At it's core, the song is about taking a negative and turning it into a positive. If you aren't familiar with the story, here is a great write-up.

Lyin' Eyes: Eagles (a case study of self-created stress: marry a rich old guy with hands as cold as ice to achieve the good life, then cheat on him with a guy her own age (who's hands are presumably not as cold as ice) and we have a recipe for a stressful existence).
