RE Song "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head"

Written by Hal David and Burt Bacharach for the 1969 movie "Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid"

and won an academy award for best original score and recorded by B.J. Thomas in 1969. Was the first No. 1 hit of the 1970's. Dionne Warwick recorded the song in 1970 on her album "I'll Never Fall In Love Again". Also recording the song for their album were Engelbert Humperdinck, Johnny Mathis,

Perry Como, Four Tops, & Andy Williams. Bobby Gentry also recorded the song in the UK.  The song was never recorded by Diana Ross.

Correction to my earlier comment. Dionne Warwick, not Diana Ross, may have sung Raindrops, as she sang a lot of songs composed by Burt Bacharach, but cannot be credited as the composer. BJ Thomas sang it for sure.

Burt Bacharach composed Raindrops are falling on my head. Diana Ross may have sung it, but did not write it, just to be clear. I never heard her sing it, either. Baby it’s cold outside!

I wish that we could do songs that are inspirational due to the holidays and the hard times that we, as a whole, are having here in the USA right now!  Maybe songs like "Jesus Loves Me" by Whitney Houston or "Silent Night" sang by a childrens Choir!

@oldmandigital

Your post "Open The Door Richard" was recorded by Count Basie Orchestra in 1947. Not sure if

this is the one you were thinking of. A real oldie!!!

Misty - Johnny Mathis
