Yes, the inspiration behind Sweet Caroline was his wife, and the name Caroline had the right syllables and rhyming capability. He later changed the story to Caroline Kennedy saying that’s where he got the name Caroline. It’s possible that both are true. This info is from a biography that I just read.

Sly - Scorpions
Released in 1984, Scorpions scored a huge hit with the power ballad Still Loving You (SLY). It was popular throughout Europe, but especially France where it was credited with causing the baby boom of 1985. The band couldn’t believe it, but it was confirmed by French officials. Some of their fans told the band that they named their daughters Sly after the song title. Years later, singer and lyricist Klaus Meine wrote a song about a girl named Sly. It begins . . .
In the summer of '85
The clouds just went
And the day became so bright
With the most beautiful smile
Growing up to be the sunshine of my life
