Queen’s Brian May participated in NASA asteroid project

This is so cool!

Though he’s best known as the rockin’ guitarist for Queen, Brian May is an active astrophysicist in his down time. He is a team member of the OSIRIS-REx project. His work on the project enabled the mission leader to find the best landing area for the capsule to collect the asteroid sample which was recently returned to earth.

May was unable to attend the celebrations in person as he is in rehearsals for the upcoming Queen US Tour.

Also, May was knighted in March, so it’s now Sir Brian May!
