Grace - U2
She carries a world on her hips
No champagne flute for her lips
No twirls or skips between her fingertips
In perfect condition
What once was hurt
What once was friction
What left a mark
No longer stings
Out of ugly things
In everything

Let Your Soul Be Your Pilot
Sting: "A friend of mine has AIDS, and it's a privilege to be around him because he has turned a corner and every moment to him is charged with meaning. He's so aware all of the time, and so he inspired 'Let Your Soul Be Your Pilot'. It's a song about death, or dealing with death in a way that offers some sort of hope. I actually think it's quite an uplifting song - the intent is for it to be uplifting."

Caroline (Concrete Blonde):
"In another life I see you as an angel flying high
And the hands of time will free you
You will cast your chains aside
And the dawn will come and kiss away
Every tear that's ever fallen from your eyes
Behind those eyes I wonder"

When the River Meets the Sea (John Denver and the Muppets):
"Patience, my brother and patience, my son
In that sweet and final hour
Truth and justice will be done"

Cheryl Crowe's "Soak up the Sun" always lifts my spirits. Particularly the verse:
I don't have digital,
I don't have diddly squat,
It's not having what you want,
It's wanting what you've got
Let's all lighten up, I've got no one to blame for every time I feel lame I'm looking up. I'm gonna go put my 45's on and rock on.

13 (There Is A Light) - U2
If there is a light
We can't always see
If there is a world
We can't always be
If there is a dark
Now we shouldn't doubt
And there is a light
Don't let it go out
"I'm a musician. I write songs. I just hope when the day is done I've been able to tear a little corner off of the darkness." ~ Bono
My go-to song every night. Thank you, Bono!
