WHAT CAN AARP POSSIBLY BE THINKING?

I just got an email from AARP. Contained in the email was an article relating to where to live in retirement. The jist of the article was how to escape the dome of heat that has affected several states. Granted, several states have been quite hot but the places that AARP suggests for older people is totally irresponsible and frankly, ridiculous.

Here are the seven states that AARP suggests and keep in mind this is directed toward people in their 60's, 70's, 80's and above. The states are MAINE, MICHIGAN, MINNESOTA, WYOMING, PENNSYLVANIA, UPPER NEW YORK(BUFFALO), and OREGON.

One thing these locations have in common is that they measure snowfall in feet, not inches. Another commonality is temperatures frequently reach single digits at the height of winter.

Was no one proofreading this article for content? Read the fine print and I believe some of the content was provided by AI.

FOR AARP TO SUGGEST THESE STATES AS RETIREMENT DESTINATIONS WHERE COLD WEATHER IS SO HARSH AND DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY FOR THE ELDERLY, IS TOTALLY IRRESPONSIBLE!!!!

While I agree with you…anything I get goes in the trash without opening it, that way nothing to get frustrated with.

[Sunday 8/16/26]

NC @nctarheel , my "ideal" retirement place to live would be a place that it is fall/autumn ALL THE TIME.

Virginia (in my location) "use to" have MILD winters back in 2018 when I moved from ANOTHER Virginia city that DIDNOT.

Summer was ALWAYS too hot for me as I aged.

To be honest, I don't think it is "possible" to ESCAPE whatever one may call BAD weather.

We do have the "snowbirds" who head to Sunny Florida (well use to) after Thanksgiving. Returning after Easter. Lol, between the hurricanes, floods & sinkholes (Florida) - I think I will stay ALL YEAR round here on my hill in Virginia.

As far as AI - as much as I know we are stuck with it, glad I will soon be gone. Too old to be dealing with it "taking over". As you said, do "humans" check what they had AI "write" for them???? Nope! Now we have the "responsibility" to ASK - is this true or not? Lol, usually not. 😂

Take care my friend,

Nicole 💛🤗
