Notice of award letter for retirement benefits

I applied for my retirement benefits in July 2019 to begin receiving them at age 66 which is on November 8, 2019. (I realize they hold a month of benefits).  I still have not gotten any confirmation letter. I have called and gone in person to SSA but all I get is your on schedule to receive benefits and will get a letter after your birthday! My twin who applied 7 days after I did in July got her confirmation within ten days. I am in Florida and she lives in Virginia.  If anyone out there is in Florida is this normal for them to not send you any Notice letter until after your birthday? I just don't understand the delay in sending out my Notice letter.

Tx in advance!

Hi my name is Terri, 36yrs old female. I think what they did is inappropriate, it shouldnt take that long for them to get back to you.
