I'm a 74 year old retired federal agent and longtime AARP member. I have been receiving my RMDs via direct deposit.
In June 2022 the bank account being used unexpectedly changed and I was unable to amend this information on the TSP website. As a result, the payment was sent to my now closed account.
TSP has acknowledged having these missent funds returned by the Treasury Department.
For several months I've been fruitlessly trying to reconcile this error and receive a replacement deposit.
My concern is that the TSP website doesn't show the payment being returned and credited to my account.
When I eventually receive my 2022 TSP Form 1099-R unless this error is reconciled the "Gross distribution" box will include this missing amount.
How do I prepare
my 2022 federal tax return to account for these unreceived funds? Thank you very much for your response.
