Maybe it has been this high before, but 25,000 pts for a $5 Lowe's card seems like a new high to me.

AARP doesn’t mind increasing the points requirement for these gift cards but refuses to increase the dollar $$$ value. 
There never was a justification for them to go to the $5.00 gift card.

The last Home Depot GC was also 25000 (and it was never that high before), so this may indeed be a new points price for these. I guess since these sell out so fast even with the higher points, it doesn't surprise me that they are raising the points on them.

@andrewtoo I did a search on the discussion posts on this, I think this is the highest I’ve seen for it.  That seems like it’s an Amazon purchase price…which makes me wonder what Amazon will now be costing!
