Redeming AARP Rewards on Gift Cards

I just joined AARP and I to am able to earn points but can't use them nor can I purchase a gift card.  I chatted with someone 3 weeks ago, last week I talked with someone from the community care team and customer service today.  I'm surprised with this issue happening so often, this has not been fixed internally.  

Anyway, I was told that when using your points, you can only use points to get 3 gift cards per month.  But I was also told that you can only get one of each gift card then that's it.  Is that true?  So, if I use my reward points to get a Kohl's $5 gift card, am I done with Kohl's?  I can never get another Kohl's gift card using reward points again??  My plan was to get one $5 Kohls gift card each month so by the end of next year I could atleast get 1 thing nice at Kohls.  Can someone give me some clarity on that?

Just a warning.  I think Kohls only allows you to use up to 4 gift cards per purchase.  Many but not all stores have a limit on how many gift cards you can use per purchase

And "sometimes" Ray @RayB618379 , there are DIFFERENT "rules" for In-store or Online Purchases. Maybe CALL your "local" Kohl's or their website number to ask.

GREAT tip @shamit , lol - I completely FORGOT that. In fact I need to make some "time" to do this myself - check the limits on Panera, Bath & Body Works, Walgreens, Staples & Jersey Mike's. Will be doing ONLY in-store purchases. NO "online" or deliveries for me.

I wish they had it like amazon or Starbucks where you can combine all the gift cards into one.  I ran into the same issue with Apple.  One of my credit cards gave me $25 gift cards to apple.  unfortunately they only gave them in $25 denominations.  One time I got 10 $25 gift cards and called them, that's when I found out they only give out $25 ones.  Apple will take up to 8 I believe.

Welcome to AARP. I hope they get your account working soon so that you may enjoy the gift card benefits. Regarding redemptions, you are correct in that you can use points to get up to 3 gift cards per month. If you try to get another one it will prompt you that you have reached your limit for the month.

Regarding the number of gift cards, you will be happy to know that it is only limited to one redemption for a SPECIFIC instance of a gift card posting. For example, there could be 2 Kohls gift cards posted and you could get one of each. Then you could wait and if during the month another Kohls gift card gets posted you could get that one as your third one for the month. The next month theoretically you could get 3 more Kohls gift cards (if they post that many). If you happen to click on a SPECIFIC gift card posting that you have already gotten it will pop up and tell you that you are limited to one. Hope this helps.

Thank, I hope I'm able to get multiple Kohls.  I can use them to get my grandkids legos and other toys from there for gifts plus get that Kohls cash.  Really saves me some money.

Ray @RayB618379 , on the 1st of EACH MONTH, there will be "extra credit" activities to earn cards. Usually there is one for KOHL.

And there are "usually" 3 OTHER Kohl's cards EACH month.

So you should be able to "snag" 3 EACH MONTH my friend. 🤞

Ray @RayB618379 , as far as NOT being able to "redeem" ONLY earn, I had the SAME issue May 16, 2025 when I "joined" the AARP Rewards Program. It was "fixed" June 7, 2025.

Keep "trying" to redeem as mine was fixed BEFORE the AARP IT Team sent me an "email" telling me it was fixed.
