AARP Eye Center
I see that some people have complained in the past about not receiving their gift cards. I'll add my story.
Last Thursday (9-26-24) I purchased a Holland America Gift card. I got the email within minutes. A little while later I ordered 4 Safeway gift cards. No email. I called the next day and they said they would work on it. Tuesday (4 days later) still no email, called them again. They said they would send a notice to someone up the food chain. Later that day I got an email saying
"Thank you for contacting AARP.
We have received your inquiry regarding your gift card issue.
We apologize for any frustration you have experienced. We have escalated your issue to the AARP technical support team.
Please be assured that I will be your direct point of contact while we resolve this issue."
Today, Thursday (10-3-24) still no email. So I replied to the above email saying that if I don't get the gift cards in the next 24 hours I'm going to tell the credit card company that I dispute the charge because I never received the item.
Why can't people do what they are supposed to do?
@lanegust5163 I'm glad you received all your gift cards. I'm terribly sorry for your experience and I have taken note of your feedback for our team to review. I'm always here to help if there's anything I can do. - Janelle M.
Hello, I also purchased airbnb gift cards on 9/25 noticing that it stated might take longer than 24 hrs, well by mon the 30th still no email no cards. Contacted AARP by chat, reported my issue got the same email as you about who to contact, made a couple of calls left messages and also more chats since no one answers the phone. Told my issue has been escalated Finally received a call on 10/2 and all they wanted was my home address and email? I still do not have my cards, money debited from my account 9/25. I did contact my bank to start a dispute. If I haven't received my cards by Monday (per chat), I'm supposed to contact them again. I have my balance due on the 8th, this has been so not worth the stress and frustration over the savings, continuing as an AARP member is questionable and I definitely won't purchased a gift card again!
@lanegust5163 I'm so sorry to hear that you haven't received your gift cards yet. The timeframe to hear back on an escalation is 3-5 business days, so our team is able to fully review the info. I encourage you to follow up on your escalation using the info provided in that email as our team is working on your case. - Janelle M.
