Albertsons gift cards

I bought 5 Albertsons gift cards, $250 each. I thought my points would pay for them, based upon what I understood on AARP rewards website.

I was shocked to receive a $1200 charge for $1250 worth of cards.

A $10 savings on $250 (that's 4%) card is not worth the hassle of handling the printed paper card at checkout.

I feel ripped off and would like to cancel the gift cards and get refund for money paid.

Sorry @km1422  , nowhere on the Albertson’s card description does it say purchase for points.  (Screenshots below).  This  is a purchase using money.  Not sure why you thought it’s for points.  Look around at the rewards site.  The cards for points will say For Points.  I don’t purchase any of the cards for money, not much savings at all.  But have gotten multiple cards for points.

I don’t think you’ll get a refund, since this was clearly your mistake, but since you’re new they might honor it this once.  You shouldn’t feel ripped off, mad yes because you misunderstood , but it didn’t say points.
