Living in a nursing home

I wanted to start a forum for those of us living in nursing homes, and the unique challenges that we experience. I am 51 and have chosen to not treat my recurrence of breast cancer. I also have dystonia. So I am living in a nursing home now, which I find to be very difficult, and lonely. I wanted to reach out to others in a similar position.

I and my wife live in an independent living center which has progressive care units.

They range from assisted living to memory care. They also have a rehab center which my wife Mary was in to rehab from back surgery for two weeks.

She is now having additional rehab and living back in our independent living apartment.

If you have any kind of health issues be sure to check out what kind help is available  in your area. Also check out what Medicare insurance is available to help with the cost.

I just wanted to say hi.  Iโ€™m not in that position, but I wanted to say that is a great idea you have to start a thread for this.

I appreciate when someone posts a new topic on something, because you never know who that person might be touching along the way.  I hope there are others who would find this a great way to share as well for this topic.  ๐Ÿ˜€
