Lighthouses of the world
There are over 20,000 functioning ligIhthouses around the world. I have seen about 75 of them over the years.
Many of them on the Pacific coast and the Great Lakes
Sorry it took so long to set up this next topic!

Wisconsion Point Lighthouse in Superior,Wisconsion
Long walk. Lake breeze. Family time. Made it out to Wisconsin Point Lighthouse with my Mom and my nephew — what a view!
Built in 1913, this lighthouse sits at the end of a 10-mile freshwater sandbar that marks the entrance to Duluth–Superior Harbor—one of the longest of its kind globally.

The Grace Darling Lighthouse, Grace’s bedroom was housed in the white band section of the lighthouse where one stormy night she looked out of her window to be shocked by the sight of a shipwreck on the treacherous rocky islands just off the northeast coast town of Seahouses. Grace and her father rescued as many stricken sailors as they could. Still many lost their lives.

Neist Point lighthouse photographed from the seaward side on the Isle of Skye off Scotland’s west coast. Neist Point was established in 1909 and designed by David and Charles Stevenson. The lighthouse is a popular attraction for visitors who enjoy a half mile walk which starts with a steep down flight of steps (perhaps less enjoyable on the climb up on the way back!). Photograph by Ian Lamb.

Visitors walking the beach at the restored Pelee Island Light, Ontario, Canada on Lake Erie. This old lighthouse was built in 1833, first lit in the spring of 1834, and discontinued in 1909. Thereafter it fell into ruins becoming an empty shell. Local citizens oversaw a full restoration completed in August 2000. - Photo submitted by photographer Preston Haskell

Souter Lighthouse and the Tyneside Coast
Standing proud atop the cliffs near Whitburn, Souter Lighthouse was the first in the world purpose-built to be powered by electricity. Its iconic red and white stripes are instantly recognisable, a beacon of maritime heritage along the Tyneside coast. Built in 1871 to protect ships from the dangerous rocks below, it remains one of the North East’s most loved landmarks.
This view stretches south along the coast, with the dramatic Marsden cliffs and the curve of the shoreline leading your eye all the way to the faint silhouette of St Mary’s Lighthouse in the distance. Crystal-clear skies, calm waters, and a slice of industrial history watching over the waves.
