A New Game For A New Year, Everyone Can Play

I Am So Old...

(this is the theme)

I remember during ballads at concerts people held up Bic lighters instead of smartphones.

(No politics!)

Thank you so much, covfefe, and good night!

I'm so old, I remember a potbelly wood stove as the only heat in the house.  On cold mornings we'd rush in the kitchen to gather around it.

Buying a chocolate frappe at the Woolworths in my downtown in the late 60's with my paper route tips. They were so good!

I'm so old...

I remember Bozo the Clown, Captain Kangaroo and the Mickey Mouse Club on tv, AM radio stations, and having a coal furnace to heat my house.

@Jerseystorm  Your post reminded me of Jack LaLanne in his red jumpsuit doing exercises on his show.  Also Romper Room,  Romper, bomper, stomper boo.  Good memories.  A funny little trivia fact, Jack LaLanne's wife was Elaine LaLanne, love it!

We recently moved, and I'm still getting to know the neighbors. I can't remember the husband's name of one couple, but his wife is Elaine, and I seem to remember her name, because I say Elaine LaLanne in my head.  If only her husband was Jack!

And in glass returnable milk bottles.  The cream always rose to the top and had to be mixed before using.

Did Chrysler's PT Cruisers remind anybody else of the Milk Delivery Trucks?

I am so old I remember standing up when a lady entered the room or rose from the table. I stopped when they started asking me where I was going.

I remember it was easy to open doors for ladies because they expected it. Now I have to race them to get there first.

I remember when we congratulated grooms and gave our best wishes to brides. I still do that. Congratulating the bride for getting married is an insult. I would never... man, I'm old.

Wow Shari!  Isn't THAT the truth!

I am so old, I remember:

When respect was the norm.

When the corner store had hardwood floors and penny candy at the cash register.

When ladies wore hats and gloves.

When swear words were not a part of everyday, normal conversation.

Wringer washers and drying clothes outside on the clothesline.

Never having "snow days" or "starting school 2 hours later."

Wooden sleds and snow boots with metal buckles.

I remember when "Common Sense" was "COMMON".....

If you routinely express intolerance, please consider the definition of "bigotry".

I remember when planning a roadtrip meant figuring out where to get off the Interstate Highway and then back on to get past the unfinished parts.

Or you could get free maps from gas stations...My favorite was those from Esso...either for one state or regions.

I Am So Old...

I remember high-fashion to be bell-bottoms, the wider the more fashionable. Today, skin-tight is in, and my doctor just refuses to endorse them as a substitute for compression stockings. 😖

I remember when a tear in your bell-bottoms meant you patched them.  Now, kids actually buy their jeans already ripped!

I remember miniskirts, maxi skirts, and hot pants!!
