False Advertising in AARP Membership Solicitation Letter

Recently I received a letter signed by S.F. Miles (Senior Vice President, Membership) offering membership in AARP with a birthday discount of up to 45%. But none of the 3 subscription choices offered includes a 45% discount.  Eiehter Ms Miles' is trying to trick people whose math skills have diminished, or she didn't bother to check her own math skills. 

The choices offered are:

#1 1 year for $20 discounted to $15 (that's a 25% discount)

#2  3 years for $55 discounted to $38 (that's a 31% discount)

#3  5 years for $79 discounted to $55 (that's only a 30% discount).

It looks to me like Ms Miles blew the math on choice #3. Not only is it a lesser discount than choice #2 even thought it's a longer period, it also looks like she wrote down the rate multiplier (55%) rather than the answer ($79 x 55% = $43.45). 

It looks to me like AARP owes anyone that signed up for the 5 year option for $55 a refund of $11.55.
