Hi. I have Kaiser Senior Medicare Advantage and am enrolled in the Silver & Fit free gym membership program offered under that plan. I am having issues getting Silver & Fit to add the gym nearest me to their list of locations for me even though that gym tells me they participate in the program. I find this very odd. If others here are enrolled in Silver & Fit, can you share notes on your experience with the program, in particular if youโve had similar issues accessing a gym facility near you?
Thanks so much for anything you can share.
Salpha, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I'm trying to gauge whether the issue is widespread and may represent a pattern of behavior on the part of Silver & Fit. Perhaps, it's a bit paranoid, but this is what I suspect they mat be up to:
They are purposefully making it burdensome for a member to actually sign up at a gym, causing a month's long delay before the member can use a gym. In the meantime, Silver & Fit is drawing on payments from Medicare under the program, without having to make the commensurate outlay for the gym membership fee. So, they are getting "free money" from Medicare this way. If this is in fact what's behind their perplexing setup, then they're engaged in virtual Medicare fraud, in my opinion. And they should be held to account. I am hoping others here who are in Silver & Fit and have faced similar difficulty in accessing a gym that's convenient for them would share their story and contribute to assessing if there is a pattern here. Thanks.
