I have a standing desk at my office and I use it all day long.

I've also read that you shouldn't stand all day.  It reminds me of my Army days, where constant standing helps to compress your spine.  I recommend you alternate your standing and sitting.  Just the motion of moving from one position to another helps with circulation and strength.

I keep moving by alternating between sitting and laying on the couch.  Sometimes I sit in my chair also.
