When should I knock in Gin Rummy?

Gin Rummy is a game of strategy, and knocking is as strategic as it gets. The move ends a round when you have 10 or fewer points of deadwood, or unmelded card. This ends the round immediately, and scores are calculated. This allows you to see your opponent’s hand, and might prevent them from going gin. It also allows you to end the round on your terms.

To knock, you discard your final card face down and choose “knock.” But be careful when knocking—if your opponent has less deadwood, they’ll undercut you and score a bonus.

Ready to master the art of the knock? Play Gin Rummy now and test your timing, strategy, and nerve against your opponents!
