Know the feeling. I lost my wife will be 3 years at Christmas. I continually try to interact with darn near anybody that is willing. Living alone pretty much sucks (at least for me). I have to be able to have friends. I am blessed in that I have a number of casual friends.  I am blessed to also have an attentive family I have a daughter in Fountain Hills Az. (about 40 miles from my home) and a son who lives about 1 mile from me. I just got back from a week in Ca.with my Daughters family and am going for a few days back to California with my son - this trip going to the Saturday car get together(think it is called donuts and derelicts) in Huntington Beach and San Diego zoo this trip.

So lemme know if you wish to chat. I live in a Trilogy community in Gilbert Az. ave. age maybe late 60's early 70's (i just turned 79)

Little info about me I kind of am an exercise addict - I bike about 2 hours a day six days a week and the other day I volunteer at my church - just do dooby stuff with a group of 6-8 guys.We  Mow -do clean up  around church and have coffee and donuts. I also do circuit training MWF. This is as much a social hour as it is exercise. All for now.

Jim

So tell me about Jada  🐈  Brenda @BrendaR742471 - what brand cat food, any toys?

Mr.  🐈   luvs Friskies and NO toys.

Lol, he is determined to stay FERAL and ignored bed and scratching post I had bought him.  🙄🙄🙄

I do dry 5 days and wet 2 with water bowl beside his Feeding Station inside my Studio Apt.

*** They say cats own us/lol  😂🤣

Thanks,

Nicole  🙃🙃🙃

I feed her a small amount tuna 3 times a day. She throws up with the canned food. Also feed her Friskies kibble every two hours during the day and evening. Can’t give her the kibble twice a day otherwise she may throw it up since she eats so quickly I think. Talk about a pampered cat!  She likes one of the scratching posts but will not use the other one. She’s not into toys either but plays with her feather-on-a-string thing. Doesn’t like catnip or boxes unlike many cats. It’s fun watching my dog, Jelly, chase her, which she enjoys. There’s a cat blog that I like called love ‘n hisses and you might enjoy. Robyn and her husband, Fred, take in Mama cats and kittens and then adopt them out. She has a good sense of humor and is informative. They live I. Huntsville, Alabama.

Hi Brenda @BrendaR742471 , hope your weekend went well.

Well, things have changed on my end now that he has begun to FINALLY use the OUTDOOR megamansion (plastic container with stray) my neighbor had put on her porch for him.

Now I can shut my door AFTER feeding him at 6:30am ET every morning. I use to let him stay in ALL DAY. Was a pain as he REFUSES to be adopted and COME AND GO all day.

Was okay until we hit 40's THIS WEEK here in Virginia = Fall is kind of here.

So with the CHANGE, I pack up what he has NOT eaten for breakfast and will use for dinner IF he shows up.

Lol, he is DETERMINED to do HIS THING but I am DETERMINED to continue with my routine. He wants ATTENTION on his terms = when I am busy. But IGNORES me when I have time for him./lol  🤣😂

Oh well, got to luv them = bring SO MUCH luv to us.  👍👍👍

So tell me about any hobbies you may have?

Me, luv reading and walking.

Nicole  🙃🙃🙃

Your name is Brenda too?!  I remember the seasons in Maryland. I was a tomboy and roamed the woods nearby and rode my bike helter skelter. The seasons are more temperate here. We are having a nice Autumn with temps in the 60’s and in the 50’s at night. Perfect!  Hope it lasts for a while. Just finished throwing Jelly’s bone for him. He has always liked playing in the evenings even when he was a pup.

hi Nicole.

You sound so ambitious cleaning your cat and all. My vehicle was stolen in January’22 and decided not to get another. It was a ‘97 Honda CRV. 25 years old!  Too expensive for one thing. I now walk, take the bus (sometimes with Jelly), or get a ride with friends. Good for you in sleeping through the night what with Mister wanting in. Pampered cats and dogs that’s for sure. Fall has come and there’s a definite chill in the air. Autumn is my favorite season.

Brenda @BrendaR742471 , that is AWFUL!!!  😤😤😤

My 2006 Hyundai Elantra has NO ALARM and GRATEFUL I have a handicap spot RIGHT IN FRONT of my Studio Apt. Lol, every time I get up to p.e at night, I look out my window to make sure she is STILL THERE. I told Mr. since apparently all the HUMANS who was FEEDING him have NOW moved (reason I "inherited" him in May of this year) = he is eating me out of EVERYTHING = he needs to watch my car = Guard Cat.  🤣😂

Pets are EXPENSIVE!!!

But he has GROWN on me and we NOW have our Cuddle Sessions, Conversations when he is in the MOOD.  🙄🙄🙄

yes, they are expensive. Here in Seattle at least, Vets charge a lot. I don’t take Jada in at all for her annuals. I do take Jelly in for his at $85 last time. I like my Vet too, but still. I don’t give either of them flea medication but vacuum every 3 days. I groom them both every evening and do their nails every 2 weeks. I brush his teeth with the groom. I tried to get Jada used to tooth brushing but she wasn’t t having it.

Hi Brenda @BrendaR742471 !!!

Just had to put Mister out for the night and felt SO GUILTY!!! But it was 10pm and usually he is gone. He looked at me like, Really mom???

It has been RAINING ALL DAY here in Virginia so I could NOT leave my Studio Apt door "ajar" for him to come and go. So yours truly DIDNOT have her OLD LADY nap. When the weather is nice, I can with door ajar. So I am TIRED. He can go into the MegaMansion the lady next door to me has on her porch for him.

yes, many of us feel guilty for stuff about our pets, myself included. But, remember, you are important too, and you need to get your rest. And, also, none of us is perfect and we all do things in regards to our dear pets that aren’t positive.
just finished a 1 mile walk with Jelly Bean that I really didn’t want to do but it’s good for both of us. The next three days I’m going to be doing social and task like stuff so he may not get his walk. Depends upon my energy level. I’m 77 so get depleted more easily.
really nice weather here lately. Today’s in the 70’s and sunny.

Is mister still annoyed with you?  Cats are so funny.  Dogs too but in a different way. When Jada is annoyed at something she will wag her tail briskly back and forth. It looks like Fall has finally announced itself. Cooler than it has been and occasional rain. And of course it’s getting darker at an earlier time. Did a large throwing out of stuff I no longer want or need last year but think I’ll do it again soon. Well, tomorrow is church, and then get together with a small group of people on Wednesday. Need to go to the library, possibly Tuesday. Have some books ready to pick up. I’m quite a reader.
take care!

[9/28/24] Lol Brenda @BrendaR742471 , he is one "moody" cat. He luvs me brushing him with my old dish brush. He lays down and stares at me. Everyday he has a Cat Tantrum as I am "tightening" up on his spoilt self. What genres do you read? Me, mysteries. Did Helene affect your weather? Virginia - flooding and tornadoes. Nicole  🙃🙃🙃

Most cats I’ve known are moody indeed, Jada included. I have known some though who aren’t. When I was in the pet sitting business I saw a few who were mellow all the time. I also read mysteries. I loved Tana French’s books except for her last one which I stopped reading 1/4 of the way through. I’m about to start one by Jonathan Kellerman which I checked out at the library. I’m a big fan of my library. How about you?  No effects from the hurricane. We’ve been having cool weather, in the 40-60 temps and sunny though we’re supposed to have rain tomorrow. I’m a big listener of classical music which I’m listening to now, as well as my jazz-blues station. Just finished grooming Jada which she enjoys though keeps an eye out if I don’t do it correctly.

Hi Brenda @BrendaR742471 !!!

I use to like the library but no more. I like NEW and "clean" books whenever I do read. Also developed a liking for audiobooks when I retired.

Weather has been mild, Fall weather with rain RETURNING today.  😤😤😤

Then sun RETURNS tomorrow they say. Party Time.  💃💃💃  Suppose to stick around.

For about a week now I have been BINGEING on Perry Mason movies. Use to watch it and Ironside years ago.

Lol, that is cute with Jada.  🤣😂

Mister now EXPECTS me to use my OLD dish brush on him each day. Told him he needs a job to pay.

When Jada was an Indoor-Outside Cat, did she SCRATCH your door to get INSIDE? Mister NEVER use to. You should see his damage. Lol, I need to INSTALL a CAT bell.  🙄🙄🙄

when Jada could go outdoors she would meow to be let in if I hadn’t already let her in.
I like a bunch of different kinds of books. Have many interests. I’m reading a mystery by Kellerman, a Christian book by Max Lucado, “The boys in the boat” by Daniel Brown, which is also a movie by the same name. I haven’t seen the movie but plan to after I finish the book, which is really good.
weather was warm but rainy today. I see that it will be warm and sunny for most of this week. I’m sure glad I’m not in Florida or western North Carolina right now.

@BrendaR742471 , I just CORRECTED incorrect PBS show.

Hi Brenda!!!

My only child, a daughter lives in Florida. I use to.

Today the sun finally stayed out all day here in Virginia and suppose to stick around all week.

Lol, I wish Mister was like Jada and "meow" instead of tearing up my door.

Winter will be interesting as I had not "inherited" him last Winter. I am so not returning to spoiling him. But I do luv him. Mr. Rebel.

I have been bingeing on Perry Mason and everything else is on hold - reading.

I did watch PBS Masterpiece - Ribley and ▶️*** Moonflower Murders. Do you like PBS?

I hope your daughter came through the storm ok. I have no children but it’s worrisome I’m sure. We’re still having warm weather during the daytime though I’ve been turning on the gas fireplace for a little while in the mornings as it’s in the 40’s. Have been reading “The Siege”, a nonfiction about a terror cell taking over the Iranian embassy in London in 1980. I don’t even remember that happening. It’s very interesting. I cut out my cable tv a while back as I wasn’t watching it that much. Saving a bunch of money. I think PBS is a great channel though. Jada and Jelly say hi!

▶️*** @BrendaR742471 , I added text to PBS section.

Hi Brenda , yes she did. Only lost power. Thank you SO MUCH for asking!!!  🤗🤗🤗

Oh NO, no cable for me. I use their FREE PBS app on my very old Android. Lol, screen is "tiny" but I am GRATEFUL. I do not pay for any PBS shows. I wait until they air for FREE on app.  💃💃💃

Hey back to Jada and Jelly. Mister sends his luv.

No HEAT on as yet, but I do have one side of my door taped to keep COLD out. So Mister is NOW restricted once tape is on. Feel guilty but it is his decision to be the REBEL.

All of today, would scratch.

I let him in.

Comes in, sits.

Hmmm, you need to eat.

Nope goes back out.

I think he is missing my NEW Cat Mom in May routine of letting him NAP ALL DAY in my apt = I cannot nap./lol

Lasted a week. Told him he needs to stick to his old routine so I can get my OLD LADY NAP in.

Girl, here I was TRYING to stay awake to let him back out, about to fall out of my chair.  🙄🙄🙄

Stay warm!!!

I may check out the PBS site for free programming. Thx for the information.  It’s been a busy week. Today the plumber came to check out the outdoor faucet which had been leaking. The good news is that after a quick fix, it stopped. The bad news is that plumbers charge a lot. They also repaired an other outdoor faucet. So there’s that. Then my new fridge arrived. Delivery and setup went smoothly. After tall of that I took a nap. Brrrr it’s cold out lately. In the 40’s at night, and 50’s during the day with occasional rain showers.

Hi Brenda @BrendaR742471 , we had 30's mixed in with 40's. Had to use heat for 1st time this week. Glad you got water leak fixed and congrats on new refrigerator. Lol, I had to have AAA start my 2006 Hyundai Elantra which needed a NEW battery. State Inspection December 18th. Do you have State Inspections. Mister is SO FUNNY, now all over me after my "dry spell" - still NOT spoiling him like I did in this May when I 1st inherited him. Learn't my lesson. Luv to Jada and I forgot the other name = old.  🙄  Nicole  ☃️

Hi Brenda @BrendaR742471 , GOOD to hear from you!!!  💃💃💃

Nope, I am Nicole. I put Brenda  🙂   in the tag area = you.

Worked on my car today at the library down the street from me. Quiet parking lot surrounded by mountains. Beats my apartment complex parking lot. Did some waxing. September and March are my months for a Car Spa. Good exercise for this old lady.  👍👍👍

Just put Mr.  🐈  out for the night. Well let's say WHEN he left the LAST time, I shut my door for the night. He will be back scratching at my door about 3am. Lol, refuses to stay in, but feels I should operate a motel for him = come and go 24/7. Nope, need my sleep WITH my door shut. My boy.  🤗🤗🤗

Any vacation plans?

hi Silvana

i’m 76 and divorced in ‘89. The most important suggestion I have is to make sure your finances are ok. Because you own half of your business, I would hire an attorney. My ex and I hired a legal paralegal, which is all we needed. We had no kids and split the house sale proceeds in half. It was an amicable divorce. For one thing, we were both ready to leave, especially me. I flirted with a few possible relationships for some years, but for quite a while now, haven’t wanted one due to the stress it caused me, and it’s been difficult finding someone that’s right for me. I’m so grateful that we had no children. That just compounds the stress. I haven’t connected with my ex since then nor wanted to. Hope this is helpful.

Thank you for the information. I have an attorney but she seems to be a bit soft and has fallen for my husbands lies so I had to put together a binder with all the information that he had lied to disability and unemployment while working our business! It is very stressful he has hid alot of the money that he stole from the business. Yikes! Went to a meeting and now he wants to move quickly on this divorce which might work in my favor.

I have an indoor/outdoor cat. His humans left him behind when they moved last year 2023. At age 66 this month, living in Virginia with a daughter in Florida - he has ADDED so much to my life.
