Fair Warning...Don't Read This If You Are Easily Offended

I read something in one of those old notebooks last weekend that brought a smile to my face.  It was a bit 'Outside The Box' so I put it aside for a few days.  I read it again today and it still made me chuckle.

The notebook contained notes from a Behavioral Science class I took as an elective in High School.  One of the exercises we were assigned was to write our own obituary and epitaph....(yeah, yeah, they would probably never get away with an assignment like that in today's high schools).

According to my obituary I was killed by a person who, attempting suicide, jumped off a skyscraper 4 blocks away (it was a windy day).  The jumper landed on me and killed me.  Unfortunately for them, they survived and were convicted of involuntary manslaughter and sent to prison.

My epitaph was:

I'm free from the joy of owning a car

And the need to go very far

Because I don't

And I won't

And all my joys and my goals are up in the clouds.

Humor can take many forms and is said to be excellent medicine.

Workers were in my house again today and a little more progress was made. It sounds like they will be back again on Monday. 🤞

So precious.  i had two Persian Indoor cats.  i am hoping to get a pet once I settle in my new home.  I find it comforting to have a pet in the home.

Nicole @Winter2025VA , Today was a good day. Both of my flights were on time and I made it back home. I was sad when leaving my sister, but happy that we were able to have our first sisters vacation.

It's been a busy weekend Nicole @Winter2025VA . Tonight I was invited by a friend to some friends of her for dinner. Since I have no kitchen currently, it was nice to have a home cooked meal that they made in their working kitchen!

I had a Good Day.  A young plumber came and said my garbage disposal was blocked, put a wrench on it and it was fixed!!  Then he proceeded to tell me that the old pipe under my sink needed to be replaced. He said he would probably have to cut into the stucco to get to the whole pipe.  (I just painted my home)   He explained that with the "economy" it is going to cost a lot because of the price of goods and labor.  $1200 to begin but possibly more.   Then he went to my bathroom to have it drain quicker and guess what!!  That old pipe needed to be replaced as well.  $600 or more if he had to replace the entire pipe.  I told him "Honey, I understand the effects of the economy.  I have a Master in Business Management and what I DO know is that the economy is not having a plumber come to make a minor repair & UPSELL a little ole woman with white hair!    He left quickly.  🤣  Be on the look out for people/companies like this.

Yes Cadee @Cadee2719 , this is more of taking care of ourselves. There are things that need to be done around the house or with a car. Maybe a husband did them in the past, but now it falls on our shoulders. Every time you set up an appointment you hope that a skilled, honest person shows up, but it certainly isn't always the case. There are people out there who try to take advantage of people if they think they can get away with it. Good for you for recognizing one of them and standing your ground!

I agree. It's good to be grateful. I'm grateful the car repair place gave me a ride home. Not really happy about the expense of a repair. Or being without a car for a couple days. I must say having a Uber driver was an experience. Very nice but swift and speedy behind the wheel. Lol
