Hello, @NicoleRetired2020FL,

As an AARP member, I had already read this article.

It does provide good guidance as to correspondence with families of the deceased.

It is sometimes hard to find words.

It is sometimes hard to find sentiments that don't include religious references.

I usually buy sympathy cards as most big entities such as grocers, Walmart, Target, and others carry huge volumes of cards and one usually fits what I am trying to say to the bereaved family.

I try not to call as most families are busy enough at this sad time and don't need any additional stress.
