SPAM calls after signing up with AARP

Anyone newbies to AARP noticed that they are inundated with telemarketer calls since signing up? We get on average 10 calls a day for senior services since signing up. I get the organizations sell on our information, but this is ridiculous! Makes me want to tell my friends to not both signing up with AARP because it's not worth the hassle.

On most all websites, there is a privacy section.  Look for those first. and opt out of things.  You are almost always opted-in to things by default.  Up to the consumers to opt out.

I am going to cancel my membership and ask them to delete all my information they have on me.  Didn't sign up for them sharing my number to scammers calling from india and other countries.

YES.  I get at least half a dozen per day.   If cancelling my membership would guarantee I didnt get contacted like that anymore, I would do it in a heartbeat.   

I wouldn't think AARP would sell my info like that, but I have only been getting these calls SINCE I joined..
