Is AARP supporting FRAUD?

I have been getting phone calls everyday from a "Brian" at the "Tax Relief Center" asking to help with my unpaid taxes.

1. I DONT HAVE ANY UNPAID BILLS OR TAXES!!

2. WHY is AARP supporting this FRAUDULENT company??.

3. The company picks up a name from their (minimal) debt research and without doing any due diligence in researching a debt they just start calling everyone with the same name. (Their research is by eliminating people who complain but still have to put up with their calls).

4. These companies should have to prove/document they have the right person before calling (especially should NOT call every day to weeks).

5. If the company believes they have a legitimate case .....DO IT BY MAIL NOT PHONE CALLS!!!

6. I AM ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST.

7. I should NOT HAVE TO JUSTIFY TO THE COMPANY THAT THEY HAVE THE WRONG PERSON.....note. the problem with justifying to the company is that you can end up giving personal information and the is UNACCEPTABLE. AND I DON'T TRUST COMPANIES LIKE THIS TO HANDLE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION.  Especially when they have demonstrated thru their calling that they haven't done proper research and HAVE NO ETHICS (calling everyday for two weeks....REALLY???)

7. AAARP needs to push at stopping companies like this .... AND FIRST PLACE TO START IS TO STOP SUPPORTING THEM.   This company lists AARP as supporting them!

Wesley @WesleyJ597796 , did you get referred to them by AARP - maybe an ad you saw online or through the mail?  🤔

I don't know what AARP has to do with it, but we've been receiving those same exact calls every day for the past several weeks. In fact, we received three of these calls today alone—so far. They always call from a different number with a 315 area code, all in upstate New York. It's useless to block the number since it always changes.

@slatus , I am so sick of these robocalls and with all the tehnology available you would think we would be able to prevent this. And ridiculous they are not being traced, fined and locked up.  😤

I don't click on ads, I have not authorized any referrals, and have not received any emails.

Wesley @WesleyJ597796 , I am confused. Your discussion title is accusing AARP of fraud.

I was trying to figure out how AARP is involved in fraud with this situation.

Anyway, thanks for responding.

This is why resolving issues by chat or community groups is silly.
