Dear Seniors:
I wish to file an age discrimination complaint against FNBO, the company which issues the branded credit card for Amtrak. I applied online for this card prior to the deadline imposed for the 30,000 reward points. In response for their request for 2 years W-2 forms, I sent a letter explaining I have been retired since 2016, so I provided the top page of my 2022 tax return, Social Security award letters for 2023 and 2024, and sheets detailing my required mandatory distributions which I received in 2023. I felt this more than satisfied the 2 years of income requirements asked for my application. Their response was a denial of my application even though they had verified my FICO score to be 844. Their excuse as stated was: "Identifying information does not verify". I sent a response disagreeing with their rejection and I just received a call stating the reason was that I did not submit my 2021 tax return. If this was the primary reason, why was it not stated as such and I would certainly have complied. The caller stated my application is rejected and the matter is closed. I was also informed that FNBO does not accept Social Security Award letters as valid sources of income. How is that position going to sit with the many, many seniors that use AMTRAK services? I will also file this complaint with AMTRAK and I hope to be hearing from them soon about this issue.
