Download AARP Magazine & Bulletin for offline reading on a computer

Is there a way to download the AARP Magazine and AARP Bulletin for offline reading on a computer? I have downloaded them on my smartphone and someday I may actually find where they were downloaded to and what format they were downloaded in (PDF, etc.).

If there is a way to download to a computer, is there a way to stop the paper delivery so there would be no need to recycle them?

Thanks in advance for any assistance. ๐Ÿ™„

DOES NOT WORK... do you have a workable URL for current issues? I, too, want to read these on my computer and want to download a PDF file of the magazine (as I do with other magazines). If this isn't possible, I guess I won't renew when the time comes.

Thank you for your membership, @aliamm. I can understand your concern and hope you stay with us. The AARP The Magazine is not available as a PDF file. You can access your publications online or through the AARP Now app, here's how: https://aarp.info/3s4r580 - Diana G.

Diane G,

I beg to differ, as of today 2025/09/25):

<https://advertise.aarp.org/uploads/misc/AB_JanFeb_2025.pdf> is a link to the JanFeb 2025 Bulletin, but it is password protected. And <https://advertise.aarp.org/uploads/misc/AB_MayJun_2025.pdf> is a link to the MayJun 2025 Bulletin, but it is also password protected. So they are on your site, it's just that your management has chosen not to allow paying members to access them.

However, <https://advertise.aarp.org/uploads/misc/AB_JulAug_2025.pdf> & <https://advertise.aarp.org/uploads/misc/AB_SepOct_2025.pdf> are available (as of today) w/o passwords (if you are logged in w/ you AARP account).

Furthermore, until mid-year 2025, the magazine was available in pdf (in 3 different editions 50+, 60+, 70+) through these links (which are now password protected): <https://advertise.aarp.org/uploads/misc/ATM_FebMar2025_TM7.pdf> for 70+, <https://advertise.aarp.org/uploads/misc/ATM_FebMar2025_TM6.pdf> for 60+, and <https://advertise.aarp.org/uploads/misc/ATM_FebMar2025_TM5.pdf> for 50+.

<https://advertise.aarp.org/uploads/misc/ATM_AugSep2025_TM7.pdf> all yield the dreaded 404 not found error.

But <https://advertise.aarp.org/uploads/misc/ATM_AugSep2025_TM5.pdf> <https://advertise.aarp.org/uploads/misc/ATM_AugSep2025_TM6.pdf> & <https://advertise.aarp.org/uploads/misc/ATM_AugSep2025_TM7.pdf> were valid as of today.

Viewing individual pages of the magazine (as reader pages) and saving them off is an exercise in frustration as there are elements that display in extremely large sizes, and references to page numbers become invalid.

Please respect your members and don't hide what is clearly available. It's not like you strip all the advertising from the pdf versions.

Take care,

a simple AARP member -- for now that is ๐Ÿ˜ž

I specifically 'went digital' to eliminate printing/mailing costs. BUT I do NOT want to download an app on a device to read the magazine. Who assumed that people would want to do that? As others have mentioned, some of us prefer to read offline and with a computer's larger screen. I certainly don't want to page through the magazine in a browser as you apparently expect us to do.

At least in the old days, to get a document such as the magazine printed, it had to be generated as a PDF file for the printer to use. Why can't you make that available to AARP members?

Yes I used this and works with Chrome browser on a Mac. It does not work with Safari.

It would be nice if this updates with future issues. Could not find this link on the AARP website anywhere.

This is great, HENNINGJ6186 !!  Does AARP plan to publish these on an ongoing basis ??  Note that there are three versions of the AARP magazine for age groups 50, 60, 70!

I give yet another vote to have a pdf download available from my computer (not a table or phone).

I moved and missed about 8 months of the print edition.

I tried to see if the "ONLINE AARP MEMBERS EDITION" would work for my needs. It does NOT.

I looked at the members edition online & find it severely wanting. I made pdfs of the first 5 "pages" of the online edition to look at it for offline viewing. It is not very pleasant to read and the page numbering is way off, so that is not an option.

Guess I'll be another person who won't be renewing.

For the record, starting with the July-August-2024 edition, pdf file downloads are no longer offered.

TO DOWNLOAD:  Click on one of these links for the bulletin or magazine.  Then click on VIEW MAGAZINE to open the PDF version in a browser.  Then you can download.  Works for me on a PC with Chrome browser.

I would like to join the chorus requesting restoring the pdfs' accessibility on computers. I don't read articles or whole magazines on my phone. I like to be able to save the articles that I might want to refer to in the future without searching my phone.

This doesnt work anymore.  I just spent 2 hours trying to figure out how to download as PDFs, only to find that you can no longer.  It is ridiculous that the ability to download as PDFs had been removed.  Because of this sole frustration, i will not be renewing my AARP membership.

We hope you stay with us, @DavidJ440038. I can totally understand your concern. You can view and save the publications in PDF format through the AARP Publications app. If you haven't downloaded the app, please check this article: https://aarp.info/3DBq8Ja - Diana G.

I don't have the best vision and reading publications on a smartphone is pretty much impossible.  It used to be much easier downloading to my computer.  Guess I'll have to find another way or end my membership.

Please consider making this link more prominent in the discussion. Much time wasted by many because this info takes persistence to eventually discover! THANKS ๐Ÿ˜„

Thanks for implementing the download capability.  I now find that I can download the current and maybe some (how many?) of the past issues to my Android phone.  They are stored (with file names 224846.pdf and 224910.pdf) in
     This PC\<phone name>\Internal storage
     \Android\data\org.aarp.publications\files\Pdfs
But what I really would like to do is to store it on my PC disk  and view it on my 24" portrait monitor.  Is there an easier way to do this other than to download to my phone, find it then transfer to my PC?  Thanks

Hi @ta3254, thank you for reaching out. Just to be sure, are you having issues with the AARP Publications app or accessing the publications online? - Diana G.

You're welcome, @rfdembek. You can download as many issues as your device allows, depending on your storage capacity. Once you download the PDF version from the AARP Publications app, you can share it to your email and open it in any other device. - Diana G.

While I'm glad to be able to download the PDFs I have to question your approach requiring an app and storing the downloaded files with obtuse names e.g., 223468.pdf instead of something more user friendly like AARP Mag 2024 06-07.pdf.  And they are stored in a place that is hard to find. by someone other than a systems programmer. I would like to view the magazines on my PC with large display, not a phone! If you are interested in making things most usable by your customers (who pay your salary) why not make a list of the magazines available on a web page so magazines could be downloaded easily to a computer with a simple right click and store. Right now I doubt that most of your audience will be able to download the magazines.

Seriously?!?!  "Get the app" is not an acceptable answer.  I shouldn't have to have a smartphone in order to download things to my computer.  I shouldn't have to have a smartphone at all!  Will not renew next year if this isn't fixed by then.  And yes, "fixed" is the right word.  This is a bug.

A phone is too small to read a magazine. I want to read it on my computer.

This is a horrible change. I preferred reading from the PDFs. Now I cannot see the additional advertisements on the online version nor is it accommodating to my vision issues. It makes my brain hurt. Please allow PDFs for those of us that prefer to visually enjoy this publication.

The link for downloading the magazine no longer appears to work. It only lets you read it online.

The link for downloading the bulletin does not show the July-Aug 2024 edition. The latest online is June.
