Ok, I have HAD it with the ads for Progressive Insurance that feature the topic about avoiding becoming like your parents?
Since when is that a bad thing??? Sure, a lot of parents weren't great; mine certainly weren't, and I have spent most of my life working to over come that. But I would like to think that for the most part, parents of our generation tried to do our best when we were raising our children. I worked very hard to make certain that I did a better job of parenting.
Personally, I am offended by those commercials, and I think they just might be contributing to the epidemic of abandoned parents that I have been reading about. In this time when political correctness is at the forefront, and accepting and respecting all people and their choice of lifestyle, ethnic differences, religious beliefs and a host of other individual differences, why it is still ok to make fun of, and disrespect those of us who have lived many decades? Aren't we entitled to the same consideration?
I just don't understand the ads that make it on air.
Who approves these stupid ads? Flo and her family need to go, way past their prime. The lizard and bird don't cut it anymore. The last Shaq and General ad I saw was stupid. Buffalo in a restaurant, I don't care if it is in the name, it's gross. On the local scene we have a personal injury lawyer making a lay up in basketball, we have an ac service man dressed like Elvis.
