Since you brought it up, and since I am stuck on Scramble Words this week, I was wondering how scramble words scores.  On the third round (that I never pass), I got 8 out of nine words before the time ran out.  But I still scored zero for that round.  I wondered but was not motivated as much as you to try to figure it out!

Is there a way to stop the game once you finish all words available without waiting for the timer to run down?

It took me FOREVER to find that!  I used to get SO BORED waiting, that I would leave Word Wipe and go play another game which had no time scoring for a minute.

Yes.  Right under the bonus bomb.  The leftmost icon, a box with a left arrow on it, ends the game.

Wait!  I said it wrong.  That icon closes the game.  When appropriate, a slim green box appears above the bonus bomb that will take you to the next level.

I would tend to agree with you about the very high scores being unlikely. I try to compete against my own best score and get satisfaction in bettering it.  I figure that the cheaters can try and outcheat each other. My best score is 38,933 and I was lucky in clearing the board several times without using my "letter bombs." All in all, it's just a game and not worth the worry.

I have some ideas about how people might cheat in WordWipe.  I am trying to post them in a "Part 2 of 2" post that I have been unable to post so far.  I have asked AARP for help with this post so hopefully we'll hear within a day or two how to make that post visible.  Thanks for the reply.

I have always thought there was bogus scoring in Word Wipe. The highest score I got was 37,000 but I lost my wi-fi and it wasn't recorded. The next highest score recorded is  24,000 something. I don't understand any score over 30,000. There has to be some cheating.

Awesome info!  I was hoping X's, Y's & Z's were more value like in scrabble.

Sometimes I wish there were a way to redo a word to get a higher score. Is there a way to undo an entered word?

Congratulations on increasing your score. I too am in awe of high scores.

Glad you found it useful.  I had also thought that letter values might correspond with Scrabble, but clearly not.  What values they did assign seem sort of random.  It's hard to get rid of letters like Q, X, and Z and we should be rewarded for it!

Regarding undoing a word entry, I don't know a way to do this.  I use a mouse and all I know is that as soon as the mouse button is released, your word is in for good.

AGree all the opinions about the scores.  Think a lot of them in most these games are impossible and essentially bogus. They are all like carnival games as far as i am concerned..  I play for f un and against myself & qu it bothering much with the leader board.
