Disappearing reward points

I've lost reward points a couple of times now.  My number has dropped as much as 50,000 points without spending any.  Anyone else have this happen or know why it happens?  What's up with the 'down for unscheduled maintenance' banner?  I skipped playing for several days.  The banner is still up, but I'm getting points again.  ????

Points expire after one year. This may be the reason for your disappearing points. The specific details regarding points expiration are outlined at the link below. Note that due to the current ongoing Rewards "Maintenance" fustercluck, you cannot actually view Transactions at this time.
