๐Ÿ’Š AARP Backs Efforts to Stop Prescription Drug Shortages (AARP Article/advocacy)

FROM THE ARTICLE.

AARP supports federal fixes as shortages endanger access to vital medications.

By Miriam Cross, AARP. Published September 26, 2025.

Older adults rely on prescription drugs more than any other age group. That means breakdowns in the drug supply chain and drug shortages have particularly challenging consequences for them.โ€ฏโ€ฏ

A 2023 report from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services found that nearly three-quarters of those impacted by drug shortages in the U.S. were between the ages of 45 and 85.

[9/27/25] GRATEFUL so far I have ALWAYS been able to get my Blood Pressure prescription filled over the years at age 67. Recently Chlolestral med was ADDED by my Medicare Doctor in 2024. Always "trying" to get off BOTH as I age & more "wise & determined" to make lifestyle changes. Added 1/2 hour or more (depending on my mood, but 1/2 hour always) EVERY day. Have always watched my salt & NO longer add salt. Lol, now to leave the "once in awhile" iced coffee & sweet snack from Dollar Tree.

Take care,

Nicole. (Friends & Family Forum)
