Good morning Nicole. How are you? You're always asking how everyone is here. I hope your car is good and have a good trip to Walmart.

Okay, you beat the stores with that Cadee @Cadee2719 !!!/lol  😂🤣

But glad he put it up for you. I am sure IF he can't take it down (too busy) one of your neighbors would.

Hmmm, is the tree fake or real?

I have fond memories of helping my Grandparents put up and take down theirs. Then EVERYONE traveled from within our island (Jamaica, West Indies) and from other locations (USA, Canada, England) to celebrate and hang out. Those were the HAPPY DAYS!!!

Nicole  🤗🤗🤗  (Grief Forum)

It is fake.  I use to put up TWO HUGE trees because I love Christmas so much.  I also put villages under my trees (something my brothers always did).  My neighbors at my previous home said when they came up the hill and saw this glow at the top of the hill, they knew our house was all decorated and lit up!🤣  The kids on the block loved it.  Growing up in a family of 7 with a widowed mother and very little money, Christmas was about the tree which cost $5.00, baking and caroling for the neighbors.  Typically we got one gift that we all shared.  It could be an old bike from Salvation Army that my older brother painted or an old sled that was repainted for us.  That was it, but you would have thought we got the BEST GIFT EVER.  We had each other and that was all that mattered to us.  Poor but happy and content. I tell friends and family I don't want gifts; I simply want them to come and share a meal and visit.

🌞  Happy Sunday EVERYONE!!!

Lol, I had forgotten tomorrow is Veteran's Day so chances are my Upstairs Neighbors From H.ll will be off. And I am skipping my usual trip to Kroger. Will do Wednesday instead. This Wednesday we have Our Holiday Event. IF you plan on attending, remember to register. Thursday is my 9am appointment with my local LOA (office of aging) to switch my Medicare Part D to hopefully something that fits my 2025 budget. Aetna is deleting my CHEAP SilverScript Plan in 2025.  😭😭😭  Anyone else dealing with Medicare Decisions? Mister  🐈  has been in and out all morning I guess trying to get me out of bed. Got to luv him. My Chichuchua (spelling off  🙄)  = a tall cat indeed, my tiny dog I tell him. Everyone, hope you rested LAST NIGHT - I did in spite of another night of sad dreams and missing my only child in Florida. Hey Marcy @MarcyW882921 , remember to let me know if you run across any Sugar Daddy's in Florida = I need one to move me into their mansion but NOT Trump./lol  🤣😂  Keep your head up. Know you are MOVING FORWARD every time you take that step towards a NEW LIFE. One where your luv ones will ALWAYS be a part of. Keep stepping  👣👣👣. Time to open my curtain, window and luv on Mister.  🐈🤗

Looks like I too have got to switch from Aetna what gives with the huge jump in premium price with this company?...You try to save a buck here and there but I gues they're the only ones to see money in their pockets..Not a little jump but a big jump in their prices...

I have a 2000 Lexus ES.  It has been maintained by the dealer all these years and is in running like a clock!  I don't mind spending a little money each year to keep it running so well.  My son took it into his garage to fix the window that would not go up (first time ever taken to someone other than a Lexus dealer)  and the mechanic said if and when I wish to get rid of it, HE WANTS IT.  He said the person that did the work on my car did an EXCELLENT job.  Soooooooo  I plan to keep it until it stops running.  I may be gone before that happens.  😁  My husband insisted that I get this car and take good care of it and it has paid off for me.  I think of him each time I drive.

I got  pass second anniversay by distraction ..Did not dwell on hubby's passing did thought of happier times we shared together ...Both daughters were here so conversation was on many topics..I decided to have canvias prints 8x8 made for our adult grandchildren..Each one chose a different print ..I am looking forward to when they arrive hoping that they came out good..I went with a different company this time as the original company couldn't crop the pictures the way I wanted them to be..So this is a chance that I'm taking..Hopefully it will be the right.  choice..Live & Learn..Healthwise I have my days both good and so-so..those dam knee caps let me know when the weather is changing..I try not to let them get to me but some days are harder than others...Have a nice weekend ..And to all Veterans I salute and thank you for your service...

Went smoothly.  He has ordered additional tests.  I am now convinced that the pain in my legs is from the sciatic nerve in my lower back.  Not sure I want to have surgery to repair a disc at this time.  I really need to stop thinking I am the "man of the house" and continue to lift heavy items and do more than an old lady should do!  😂  Thank You for checking on me.  What happened with your car?  Is your daughter back from Chicago?   Today I am making pizzelles  an Italian cookie that you make on a griddle, two at a time.  My grandson loves them so I plan to ship him a box full.  Thank You for all the "winter preparations".  I will do as you say.  I am excited to see snow, yet fearful.  It will be another "lesson" for me to learn and accomplish.  I have just put protective covers on my outdoor faucets to prevent them from freezing and had my irrigation system flushed out.  (See I am learning 😁)  I will begin the baking for Christmas and I am hoping that my brother will come and spend Christmas with me this year.  He is slowly recovering and has many doctor visits to attend.  If he plans to get the final repairs on his damaged eye, it will require him to come here to do it.   My neighbors appreciate all the bake goods I am giving them.  I think the husband loves it more than even the kids!!  Wishing all my friends on this site Peace & Love and thank them for always being there for me.  ❤️

I attended the event today

finding meaning in loss. I found out some information about grief I wasn't aware. One was looking for the familiar no longer there. Acceptance is what we get from that. I think acceptance is a back and forth type of thing, not easy to attain.

Also, It becomes necessary to recognize how grief impacts our lives. That out own journeys are important too. And not to worry how others perceive us, if something doesn't have to be done today or tomorrow, that's fine.

I think people will definitely hear something that will help in an area they feel stuck. For instance, the moderator said he was certain he saw his deceased wife in the grocery store. He kept looking for her there. I kept buying groceries and cooking for two or more people for a year and a half. Wasn't good for my widow's budget either lol. Doing better with that now thank goodness.

Attending these events is a way to move forward. No worries about transportation and no cost. Most grief events are not.

NOVEMBER 6, 2024.

Dear Susan @SusanR479241 , TODAY is another November 6th for you. You are in my thoughts TODAY!!!  🤗🤗🤗

[*** SUSAN wrote: Hi all.  I just found this group today.  My husband of 60 years passed away Nov.6 2022.  I can't seem to integrate my new life with the old one.  When he died it was an earthquake, the earth split into two halves and I am unable to seam them together.  I have a foot on one side of the split and the other foot on the opposite split.  It is splitting me apart.  A volcano exploded and caused the earthquake and the volcano is still erupting inside of me.  I have aftershocks frequently; they are very painful, and I become depressed for days or weeks.

I have no one else to tell this to so I appreciate being able to put it out there in print. ***]

Hello and good wishes to all. I'm so sorry for your losses, new people and ones who have been here. Grief doesn't have a timetable. And bírthdays, events etc bring it back full force. At times more intense than when it happened. People tell you to do social things, do something new etc. All good things but doesn't eliminate grief. Ive found caring souls on this forum who understands grievers are where they are. And so it goes. We keep plugging along.  I hope you are all well as possible. Take care and so nice to see you! Hi Nicole and Marcy, Cadee, Jonibee, Therapy, Suzanne and all!
