The quiz titled: Test Your Home Maintenance Knowledge that is by "American Home Shield (Paid Content)" says that changing a furnace filter should be left to "a professional" and evidently is considered a yearly event. PLEASE change your furnace filters monthly or close to monthly if they are the regular, affordable kind (or at least every 3 months if they are the large, expensive kind.) Also, while the super thick ones that say they filter tiny particles, mold and the like are tempting, they are not good for your furnace (they make the blower motor work harder.) Just get a normal one to keep the air going into your motor free of gunk.
