I'd be visiting Dubai from Jan 28-31. This would be my first trip . Any suggestion would be more than welcome.

Places/things worth seeing if you have a chance (not sure if this is a business or pleasure trip):

• Dubai Mall and the dancing water fountain--esp. at night. You can get a great view from the cocktail bar--I forget the name--on a top floor of an adjacent building
• Aquarium in the Dubai Mall--huge! and, in a mall
• One more mall sight--the ski slopes in the Mall of the Emirates
• Old Dubai and the spice market

Vicki is probably thinking of BiCE Mare which is a restaurant located on Level 3 at Souk al Bahar.  A quick google search should afford you a few options to make reservations. It has views of The Dubai Fountain and Burj Khalifa.
