Hi everyone! I'm new here and really inspired by all the beautiful travel stories I’ve seen in this forum.
I’m not from the U.S., but I’ve always been curious—what’s one place you've traveled to that brought you peace or joy? Maybe somewhere by the sea, in the mountains, or even just a quiet town?
I’d love to hear about your favorite memories, or get tips for future travel dreams.
I'm just someone who enjoys listening, learning, and connecting with kind people around the world 🌍💛
Thanks for reading, and wishing you a calm, sunny day!

For peace and tranquility, I recommend the island of Moorea which lies about 12 miles northwest of Tahiti. It is easily reachable from Papeete by a 30 minute ferry ride or about 10 minutes by plane. The problems of the rest of the world seem not to exist there. I have visited several times and have always hated to leave. In another life, I would sail the Cook and Marquesas Islands like Adam Troy in Adventures in Paradise.
P.S. On our last visit, after we left the ferry, we decided to rent a car. We walked up to the Avis "kiosk"... a polynesian lady sitting in an old lawn chair with a hand-painted Avis sign leaning against a portable outhouse. That's what I call laid back.
Seeing Devils Tower, then up to the locks in Sault Ste Marie MI...the upper peninsula while RVing would be nice....but the most peaceful place was flying around 2000' in a gyroplane, perfect weather, easing down the west coast of FL many moons ago.
