Hearing aids don't pair with iOS 18 or 18.1 on iPhone

This is a bug.  Numerous users are having the same problem even though they have different makes and models of hearing aids.  The problem is with iOS 18.

I never had a problem with previous iOS releases.  I tried numerous times to pair my Jabra hearing aids using the prescribed Settings > Accessibility page or the Jabra Enhance Pro app.  A couple of times it seemed to accept the pairing of each hearing aid but nothing happened.

Not true.  iOS wasn't the problem.  I was transferring from an old to new iPhone and I needed to "forget this device" (my hearing aids) on the old phone first.  (The hearing aids can only be paired to one phone.)  Also, Bluetooth needs to be turned off on all nearby Apple devices (Mac, iPad) except on the new iPhone.  After pairing, it's OK to turn all Bluetooths on again.
