Online groups for socializing

Hello. Anyone aware of safe and secure sites for online social interaction with other mature adults? I am a caregiver for a son with special needs, work full time remotely, and therefore am quite isolated. I have tried pen pal forums without success. Scammers abound. Not interested in dating but would be interested in forming new friendships. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Kathleen.  I'm also interested in finding a discussion forum where I can make some online friends (not boyfriends).   I've also tried penpal sites and had the same problems.  I was hoping that this forum would have some nice people to talk to.  I'm not currently a caregiver, but I have a lot of people with special needs in my family.

📎  [Friday 3/7/25] Hi Kathleen @KathleenK755349 , this Caregiving Forum no longer has alot of activity. But the AARP Facebook Caregiving Group is VERY ACTIVE!!!  👍

AARP CAREGIVING FACEBOOK GROUP INFORMATION!!!

Lots of questions and a lot of almost immediate responses will come your way! I moderate the group and @JaneCares helps too with admin duties as well as an AARP colleague, Jen. So between us and the 21,000 family caregivers you get lots of quick responses - it's a nice complement to this online community! Hope to see you there 🙂

Take care,
