We want to insure all of our users and loved ones are safe since there have been and we are expecting additional storms this season.  Here are some articles that AARP has that  may be of assistance to you or someone you know during this time:

Disaster Prep for Caregivers

A Caregiver's Natural Disaster Prep List

What would you suggest, to help others prepare in the event of an emergency?

other than getting your loved one to safety, is something to not forget/keep in mind?

"...What would you suggest, to help others prepare in the event of an emergency?...".

This is not something that keeps you safe. But I have always remembered an acquaintance who was living with his family, and parents, at the time and they had a fire that destroyed the house. The worst thing about this, according to him, was the loss of memento's. For him, it was the loss of family pictures that could never be replaced.

If you have pictures/dvd's, heirloom jewelry, or items that are important keepsakes, you need to put those someplace (possibly a safe deposit box).

Wow  what a good idea and what a wonderful gift that would be for someone.. to take all of your pictures and save them electronically for you.  But the originals are priceless.
