Medicating Normal

In an age where one can go to the dime store and get plastic boxes designed to organize a week's worth of Meds, and there are even companies like PillPak that will manage people's medications for them this seems to be a topic that needs real attention.  Think about it...there are so many people taking so many different medications, under the care of a medical system built on a for profit business model, that companies are profiting from organizing strangers' Meds for them.  Doesn't this seem cattywompus?

What was the cultural evolution process that led to this situation and how do we start moving in a healthier direction?  We seem to have reached a point where the general population is being cannibalized by drug companies for the sake of monetary gain.
