Hartford auto insurance

I got a notice about my auto insurance premium increase from Hartford:  80% increase for the coming year!  I talked to the agent at length, I have had this plan with them for some time, no at fault claims, and have bundled auto and home plan.  Changing my deductibles only reduce my rate by $50.  I am writing to the MA insurance commissioner but how did they approve the increase in the first place?  What are others experiencing, what recourse do I have?

This is the second year in a row that my insurance with The Hartford increased over $600 at my annual renewals. Great driving record and I barely drive my vehicle (2022 Kia Sportage that I purchased in November 2021 has under 3000 miles.) This is getting ridiculous! If this continues, auto insurance “inflation” is going to price retirees out of driving. Needless to say, I’m switching to Geico instead of renewing with The Hartford.

My car insurance shot up as well. Shop around. Go to GEICO, Progressive, Allstate, State Farm directly (online). The broker websites just seem to sell your info and then you won't stop the calls. Progressive had the best car insurance, but ended up with Travelers bc I got a lower rate in Home insurance by bundling, making my total lower. BTW (by the way), my home insurance doubled in the last 2yrs.

I signed on to Hartford insurance a few years ago after research and looking through the AARP website for information.  My auto insurance premium increased 80% for the coming period, despite a good record.   How can AARP continue to endorse this company when increases are so outrageous especially to retirees/seniors?
