British Airways Runaround

I’m so disheartened by all the chat about British Airways and AARP. You truly cannot get anyone to help with booking a reservation. I took the advice of someone who used their phone and got to the point of paying for a flight only to have the system spin and spin. Then I would get a message to contact British Airways for assistance. Of course, they can’t help you because you have to book it online. So then they had me call American Airlines to ask them if they can help because it’s a one world partnership website. American Airlines has no control over British Airways. So I called AARP and they were sure that I should call British Airways. When I explained that British Airways would not be able to help me, They said no problem we found someone who can help you and subsequently forwarded me to the main customer service line at British Airways. I

it is now simply the principle of the fact that I should be able to save $1000 on my flight. I have pictures of all the rates and the quote but I can’t get anyone to honor the price and just keep being told it has to be done online. The number of people discussing the same topic is awful.

I guess this is a symptom of a culture where nobody takes responsibility for things. No one shows any initiative for fixing a problem but blames the other person. If this isn’t a benefit, it should not be listed on the AARP site. 

And yes, I’m on the correct site. Got within reach and yet the system can’t make it happen.

In order to book travel and receive the AARP discount, you must access the AARP website, click Membership & Benefits (in the red banner), scroll to our Travel section, select Flights & Vacation Packages, and select British Airways .
